How To Install rSAP (Samsung "Ice Cream Sandwich")

Prerequisites

This installation only works with Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 and Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 with Android Version 4.x ("Ice Cream Sandwich")

Note

This installation probably only works because of a mistake made by Samsung. Performing a system update may overwrite the rSAP installation and prevent using this installation procedure again! Before you accept a system update please check this page if it can be installed without losing the rSAP functionality!

So far no incompatible updates are known.

Installation

Download rsap_install.zip file and copy it to the phone (folder "Card" when connected via USB).

rsap-install.zip (MD5: df1abaacf0fe82d3f469309f0a711322) for Android 4.0.x.

(Zip files for Android 4.1 here)

Now unplug USB and power off the phone. Wait until it vibrates to show it is really off. Hold the volume up + home + power buttons until the Samsung logo comes up. Quickly release the buttons for half a second and then hold them again. You should now see the "Android system recovery (3e)" menu.

Move the cursor with the volume buttons to "apply update from external storage" and select with the power button. Now move to the "rsap_install.zip" and press the power button again. You should see:

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Installing update...
installing rSAP...
done!
Install from sdcard complete.

Choose "reboot system now" and you are done! Now you can install "Bluetooth SIM Access" trial or full version from Google Store.

Deinstallation

If you want to uninstall the rSAP system files repeat the above steps with rsap_uninstall.zip.
